The Drop Zone™ Light Patrol Pack is built around the now classic mountaineering “klettersac” style of pack. The “klettersac” is basically an oversize daypack built around a large compartment that is accessible from the top and uses a lid closure that doubles as a pocket.

Of course, that old, original design has been improved by the designers at Drop Zone™. We have added contoured shoulder straps and a quick release sternum strap. The beauty of these shoulder straps, aside from the very comfortable cut, is that the flat, but very resilient foam padding is used to spread the load over a wider area of your body. This pack can be worn over other items with shoulder straps such as web gear. In fact the whole pack has been designed to ride “high” on top of your web gear butt pack! The flat straps will not interfere with rifle butts either, making the pack very desirable for soldiers and hunters. Military Mountaineers and SAR specialists will appreciate the Drop Zone™ Light Patrol Pack as well, as the contoured shoulder straps will not interfere with arm movement. D-rings are fitted to the shoulder straps, providing a clipping point for binocular or camera straps.

The thickly padded back pad will protect the wearer from sharp heavy items such as radios, ammo belts, and climbing hardware.

A 1” waist belt, with a quick release buckle, is fitted to add lateral stability during action, yet will not disturb web gear.

Two parallel daisy chains are sewn to the pack’s hood allowing for the attachment of additional gear such as a rocket. The hood also incorporates a zippered storage pocket that is ideal for a first aid kit!

Optional pockets can be added, as the Drop Zone™ Light Patrol Pack is fitted with M.U.L.E.S. Mk.II bandoleers. This system is compatible with ALICE, M.U.L.E.S., MOLLE/PALS, and Tactical Tailor’s MALICE attachment systems.
